RECOUNT

Social function/Purpose : Tell the readers what happened in the past through the sequence of events.(Adalah melaporkan peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan kita atau seseorang yang paling berkesan yang terjadi di masa lampau untuk memberitakan atau menghibur).

Generic strutures of text: 

1. Orientation : Give the reader the background information about person, involved person, time, and place(Memberi informasi tentang pelaku, waktu, dan tempat).
2. Events : Tell what happened in a chronological sequence.(Menceritakan peristiwa atau kejadian yang terjadi, yang biasanya disampaikan dalam urutan kronologis).
3. Re-orientation : Give the conclusion of the experience.(Pengantar akhir yang merangkum rentetan peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan).

Language Feature of Recount : 

• Introducing personal participant; I, my group, etc
• Using chronological connection; then, first, etc
• Using linking verb; was, were, saw, heard, etc
• Using action verb; look, go, change, etc
• Using simple past tense (Verb-2)
